Cucumbers are considered to be an age-old remedy for the treating the problem of puffy and tired eyes. The cooling action of cucumber will help in constricting the capillaries surrounding the eyes, thereby helping in the draining off the accumulated fluids and thereby reducing puffiness of the eyes.

To prepare a cucumber eye gel,you will have to puree half of a large cucumber and strain it thoroughly, so as to separate the pulp and the juice. To this juice, add equal quantities of Aloe vera gel and mix thoroughly, to prepare the homemade eye gel. The addition of Aloe vera will ensure that the final mixture has a gel like consistency.

The effectiveness of the cucumber gel can be enhanced by the addition of witch hazel, which has anti-inflammatory properties. To prepare the gel, one has to mix half a teaspoon each of cucumber juice and Aloe vera gel, with a quarter teaspoon of cornstarch.

Heat this mixture for 5 minutes, remove it from the flame and combine it with half a teaspoon of powdered witch hazel. The mixture has to be stirred continuously, until it has attained the consistency and form of a clear gel.

Moisturizing Eye Gel

Eye wrinkles are a problem which trouble many people around the world. This condition, which is accentuated by the presence of dry skin around the eyes, can be taken care of by using moisturizing eye gels.

Honey is the main ingredient to be added in an eye gel intended for moisturizing purposes. To prepare one such homemade eye gel, you can mix together one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of Aloe vera gel together in a blender, to obtain a smooth mixture. Addition of freshly prepared chamomile tea to this mixture, will give the gel an additional skin soothing property.

Eye Gel For Dark Circles
Dark circles around the eyes are another problem that tends to mar the beauty of the face. To counter this issue, one can use a potato based eye gel. As the initial step in the preparation of this eye gel, do grate a potato and strain it in order to extract its juice.

To this juice, add 2 tablespoons of Aloe vera gel and mix thoroughly in a blender. The skin lightening properties of the potato eye gel, can be enhanced further by the addition of lemon juice, which is a natural bleaching agent.
